PhatWare Ships CalliGrapher 6.5.1 Featuring
New Dutch, Portuguese Language Packs

Upgrade for Company's Award-Winning Handwriting Recognition Software For Windows Powered Pocket PCs and Windows Powered Handheld PCs Includes Support For New Languages

LOS ALTOS, CA – April 15, 2003 – PhatWare Corporation, a leading provider of software products and professional services for mobile and desktop computers, today announced Dutch and Portuguese handwriting recognition support for Microsoft Windows Powered Pocket PCs and Handheld PCs via the release of CalliGrapher 6.5.1, the company's award-winning handwriting recognition software. The new version is also optimized for faster performance and smaller memory footprint.

English recognition handwriting support is standard in CalliGrapher. The product's two new language packs - Dutch and Portuguese - are sold separately, as are the other current language pack offerings for German, French, Italian, and Spanish. Languages can be added in any combination to CalliGrapher to accommodate individual user needs.

Each CalliGrapher language pack includes a language-specific handwriting recognition engine, an on-screen keyboard, and a dictionary. CalliGrapher's spell checker also uses the active language-specific dictionary. In addition, Calligrapher's Letter Shape selector supports each installed language independently.

CalliGrapher is optimized to work with the latest models of Windows Powered Pocket PCs and Handheld PCs with pen input capabilities and is certified to use the Designed for Microsoft Windows for Pocket PC logo. In addition to its ability to recognize cursive, print, or mixed handwriting, CalliGrapher offers PenCommander, an easy-to-use PC navigation tool; ink color selection and customizable ink width; and a "Quick Correct" window for fast correction as the user writes. Once installed on the Pocket PC or Handheld PC device, CalliGrapher is easily accessible from within most any application.

List price for CalliGrapher 6.5.1 is $39.95; however, the product is available as a FREE upgrade for current CalliGrapher 6.X users. Language packs are sold separately at a price of $14.95 each.
