To access the PenCommander Options dialog
box, select the Options menu item from the PenCommander popup menu
or click the Options button on the PenCommander window. Please
note that while most of PenCommander skins contain the Options
button, a custom skin might not have this button. You can also use the
opt PenCommand to access the Options dialog box.

The PenCommander File section provides a space to enter a PenCommander script file name. When PenCommander is installed on your desktop PC, it creates a default PenCommander file (default.mcr) in the My Documents folder. While using PenCommander you can modify the default PenCommander file or create a new file using Visual PenCommander.
To view the content of the specified PenCommander file, click the View button. The PenCommander Script Viewer dialog box will appear, allowing you a simple way to preview and modify PenCommander scripts.
To edit the specified script file with Visual PenCommander Integrated Development Environment (IDE), click the Edit button. See the Visual PenCommander online help for more information about how to use the IDE.
The Handwriting Recognition Engine drop down menu contains a list of the installed handwriting recognition engines. If multiple handwriting recognition engines are installed, use this menu to select the preferred recognizer.
The Advanced section has the following options:
Check the Start PenCommander when Windows boots box if you want PenCommander to load automatically every time you boot your Tablet PC.
Check the Enable sound effects if you want PenCommander to play a sound when a PenCommand is executed or if PenCommand is not recognized. You can choose which sounds to play by modifying PenCommander skins (see the "PenCommander Skin Definition File" section for more information).
Check the Do not show splash screen box to suspend PenCommander splash screen when application starts.
Check the Wait for a user to execute the command using button or gesture if you want to manually execute PenCommands.
To execute a PenCommand use the Execute
gesture (short down long left stroke):

You can also add the optional Execute button to a custom PenCommander
skin which can be used to execute PenCommands (see the “PenCommander
Skin Definition File” section for more information).
If you have entered an incorrect PenCommand, you can use the Delete
gesture (horizontal stroke right to left and back right) to delete the
command name without the execution:

If the Wait for a user to execute the command using button or gesture box is not checked, enter the delay time into the Command execution delay box (in microseconds). The default timeout is 600 (0.6 sec). It is not recommended to use delay shorter than 200 (0.2 sec), especially if you print letters or write with a mix of print and cursive. Please note that you still can use Execute and Delete gestures even if timeout is enabled.
If you would like to make the PenCommander window semi-transparent, so you can see other windows below it, check the Enable Transparency box and use the slider next to it to set transparency ratio form 0% (completely opaque) to 100% (completely transparent). The default setting is 50%.
Click the OK button to store modified options.
